A kitten in downtown Tampa is safe and has found a new forever home, thanks to a collaborative team effort to save her.
Still, the officers were certain they heard a cats cry for help in the area of Cass Street and Nebraska Avenue this past week. On Monday night, a group of citizens and Tampa Police Officers Simmons, Graham and Rodriguez got together to help rescue a tiny kitten from underground at Cass and Nebraska.
The poor kitten had managed to become trapped inside a storm drain. Officers and residents worked together to remove the heavy grate and were able to reach the kitten.
Officer John Simmons is now the new owner of one very lucky little kitten. On the Facebook page for the Tampa Police Department, administrators of the page said
“It was love at first sight, the moment Officer Simmons held her.”
Thank you for saving this precious life. The two of you make a very cute couple.
