According to a November 3 report by WTAJ News, a mother and son in Pennsylvania have been charged with animal cruelty after a neighbor notified police of the horrific conditions their dogs were living in.

Shirley Zoskey, 57, and her son Nicholas, 33, were paid a visit by police at their George Street home in Lilly Borough, Cresson Township and found what Cresson Township Police Officer Paul Mummert describes as
“This is the worst case I’ve ever seen. The dog was in worst shape than I expected it was emaciated you could see the bones on the dogs tail and ribs it. There was an open soar on its hind quarters as well as numerous spots of scar tissue from scratching because of a skin condition left untreated.”
It’s impossible to tell the color or breed of Mocha, a 12-year-old dog now being treated at a local veterinarian. The younger Zoskey said that after several attempts he was able to get the dog to a vet.
There were four other dogs in the home, who are now being cared for by a family member since both owners are in the Cambria County jail.
Shirley Zoskey was arrested at the home, and Nicholas was arrested when he met them at the jail
