‘Failed foster’ will donate proceeds from dog contest to rescues

March 2, 2015

The pet parent and failed foster to a special needs dog will donate proceeds from a contest to two deserving dog rescues.

Cody Burgess is the proud “dad” to a big baby named Ben, who is a special needs dog saved by Kentucky Great Dane Rescue. This beautiful boy was thrown away by two previous owners before being rescued.
Cody offered to foster Ben. Then, like many “failed fosters,” decided to adopt. Ben is deaf, has a vision impairment and epilepsy. Cody was soon won over by Ben’s charm and decided to make him a permanent family member.

Bass Pro Shops Clarksville Presents “It’s A Dog’s Life” Facebook Photo Contest is now under way until March 14. Cody has entered Ben in their contest, where the winner will receive a $100 gift card from their store. Bass Pro Shops will announce the winner on March 17.

If Ben wins, Cody will donate half to Saving Sunny Inc. and the other half to Kentucky Great Dane Rescue. To vote for Ben, click the like button on this photo. One like equals one vote.

More important than the actual prize being offered, Cody is getting a lot of exposure for these two rescues, which hopefully will result in more donations being made so they may help more dogs in need.

Please take the time to vote for Ben. He’s been through so much and deserves to win this.
