Dog belonging to Lakewood, Washington soldier was sold while he was deployed

July 25, 2013

A dog belonging to a Lakewood, Washington soldier was sold while he was deployed, reported Q13 Fox News on July 25.

Brandon Harker is a veteran who has recently returned the the United States after being deployed to Afghanistan. He came home to Lakewood on July 18, only to find his best friend gone.

Oakley is a yellow lab. He is two years and four months old. Harker trusted another to take care of Oakley while he was deployed. Instead, that person has given away or sold his dog to someone in the Lakewood, Washington area. Oakley may even be out of this area if he was sold.

When Harker turned to social media, he was contacted by several people who saw a Craigslist ad on Oakley back in February.

In an interview with Fox, Harker said

“I am just trying to get him back since he was wrongfully given away or sold without my permission while I was deployed.”

The lab is micro-chipped and neutered. If you have any information on Oakley, please contact Brandon Harker by email at You can also contact the group Reuniting Kemo and his veteran on Facebook.

Let’s share this photo and help Brandon get Oakley back into his life. If you’re friends with any veterinarians in that area, contact them with this article and photo.

It takes a dirty, low-down person to do this to someone overseas serving his country.
