In a press release dated May 17, 2016, Bark & Co., the company behind Bark Box, announced BarkShop Live, a week-long special running June 6-12 in Manhattan, The by appointment only “pup-up” shop will use technology for dogs to help their humans track what they really want to take home to enjoy.
“Building a store for dogs takes more than slapping a bar code on a bone. BarkShop Live comes from our constant desire to know more about how our dogs see the world — and what makes them happiest.”
BarkShop Live works when the human buys a ticked and schedules a shopping experience for their dog. Every cent of their ticket’s price can be applied to products their dog loves inside BarkShop Live. Dogs show up with their human at their appointment time during the week-long experiment, where they play and test out the toys. The technology is put to use in figuring out which are favorites, as well as which toys the dog isn’t interested in. Humans choose the toys they wish to order, and BarkShop quickly delivers them to their home.
BarkShop Live will offer dogs full access to some of Bark & Co’s most popular toys that were designed in-house based on years of data gathered from shipping 25 million products from BarkShop.com and BarkBox to dogs everywhere since the company began in 2012.
