DBTR got the dogs to home base, where they were unloaded and evaluated. Seven of the dogs need to be spayed or neutered, five of the dogs need dental work or tooth extraction. All of the dogs needed bathing, with four needing extensive grooming. All needed vaccines, heartworm tests, microchips, and dewormer.
Bunny, one of the Pekes, had to have emergency surgery from a uterine infection called pyometra. Her vet bill increased the total needed, due to the cost of surgery, antibiotics, and fluids necessary to save her life. Bunny has now been spayed and is doing well.
