Former IDD handler of Otis R914 would like to connect with current MWD handler

June 21, 2013

Lcpl. Nyles Rife served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps. His second deployment was to Afghanistan, where he was the handler for IDD Otis R914. He would now like to connect with anyone who may have information on his former IDD K-9 partner.

Otis R914 is a black lab and is approximately two years old. He was last known to be at Lackland Air Force Base around August 2012. It’s possible for Otis to be anywhere by now, doing any job the military has trained him for.

This is an attempt for a past handler to share information, photos, and stories about this amazing dog with his current handler.

If you have any information on Otis R914, including who his current handler is, please contact Bbutterflyxs3@AOL.

Please network this story among your military friends. Several dogs have now been located, and their past and current handlers put in touch with each other, using social media such as Facebook. One dog was located only seven hours after an article looking for information went online
