According to a February 13 report by Fox Carolina News, a woman in the Saginaw area gave birth last month. Reports say she had no idea she was pregnant. It didn’t take long for negative comments to begin.
As it turns out, Mandy became pregnant only weeks after little Maddox was born. She took a pregnancy test at her post-partum doctor visit, which came up negative.
Mandy’s period returned, and over the course of the next nine months, Mandy only gained three pounds. She had no other symptoms. No weight gain, no nausea, and any tiredness she may have experienced would have been contributed to having three young boys at home.
With Mike on the job an hour away when Mandy went into labor, she began texting him as she made her way to McLauren Regional Medical Center. Imagine getting a text saying
“Oh no! My water broke!”
Minutes after Mike arrived, Mandy delivered a healthy 6 pounds 2-ounce healthy baby boy, whom they named Maverick.

Now those on social media are saying there’s no way Mandy didn’t realize she was pregnant. Dr. Veerayyagari Annapurna, who was on the job when Maverick was born, said is something she had never seen before but does happen.
“It’s not very common but it’s not rare either. We have seen women get pregnant not knowing while they are breast feeding their child and this baby may be an exception to the rule.”
A surprise addition that can even calm this rowdy clan.
Dr. Annapurna also says because pregnancy hormones are reduced after a few months, most pregnant women will test negative in their later months.
Many on social media are calling Mandy everything from an unfit mother for not knowing she was pregnant, to a liar for claiming she didn’t realize she was ‘with child.’ Some have even accused her of being a drug addict!
Do any of the readers know of anyone who has had a similar experience, giving birth without knowing they were pregnant before reaching the hospital? Please leave a comment.
