For now, if you are wanting to donate, please just pledge an amount. Meaning that IF custody is handed over to a rescue, all donation info for that rescue will be sent to you so that you can donate. If he is not relinquished to a rescue, no funds exchange hands at all. If you have questions, please feel free to ask.
A male pit bull named Boosie was viciously attacked by his three yard mates on Tuesday, June 9.. After the attack, he was left gravely injured. Repeated phone calls were made to the Oklahoma City Animal Welfare Division (originally thought this occurred in The Village) as well as to Animal Control, who had investigated the owner in the past for failure to provide proper care for the dogs.
The person who reported Boosie’s attack also contacted Boosie’s owner several times and received no response. On Thursday, June 11, a local rescue volunteer called AWD spoke with a Crystal Wise, who asked to speak with the reporting party. The reporter and the rescue volunteer were assured the matter would be investigated. It’s alleged all animal control did was send out an officer who went and posted a notice to the door that evening.
Boosie was attacked again by his yard mates on June 12. This is the attack that has gone viral on social media and can be seen by clicking here. Warning-it’s extremely graphic.
The person who made the video has multiple physical ailments, but sent another person to bang on the door of the home to alert Boosie’s owner that the attack was taking place. The dog owner wasn’t home, so the owner’s son and other teenagers were informed of the attack. The son went outside and looked at Boosie, then returned to the home and did nothing.
Several calls to Animal Welfare went with no action. When the video was uploaded to Facebook was made public, around 100 calls were made by multiple people to police and Animal Control. Animal Welfare came out and seized the critically injured dog. Boosie isn’t expected to survive the attack.
According to the Facebook page, Boosie was taken for immediate care then sent to the animal shelter in Oklahoma City. Another report says he survived surgery and is still at the vet (see photo attached for phone numbers).
