A copycat cat incident over the weekend leads to a New York cat being shot with a bow and arrow, News10 ABC reported April 20. This incident is similar to a cat named Tiger being shot and killed by veterinarian Kristen Lindsey.
Police said Lucky is fortunate to have suffered only minor injuries, considering the injuries to a Texas cat earlier this month that resulted in the death of an orange and white tabby named Tiger.
It’s believed this shooting was a copycat crime, and police are asking anyone who saw Lucky walking around the neighborhood with an arrow through his neck to contact the Washington County Sheriff’s Department if they witnessed anything unusual. Washington County Sheriff’s Office contact information is listed below
911 – Emergency
(518) 747 – 4623 Dispatch (Non-Emergency)
(518) 746-2475 – Administration
Lucky has been released from the vet and is expected to make a full recovery. A video showing more of Lucky and his injury can be seen by clicking here.
Cat owners with outdoor dwelling cats should be vigilant in protecting their cats, as it appears Kristen Lindsey has inspired others to injure felines who spend time outdoors.
