Cat slapping video, now back on Facebook, angers animal advocates

May 5, 2015
Jalaldeen Naseem is listed as being a resident of Saudi Arabia. originally being from Sri Lanka. Apparently, several people reported the video as abusive and reported it to Facebook. Below is the reply that was given on Naseem’s video
“We reviewed your report of Jalaldeen Naseem’s video
Thank you for taking the time to report something that you feel may violate our Community Standards. Reports like yours are an important part of making Facebook a safe and welcoming environment. The account that posted this has been restored, so this post might be visible on Facebook again. If you still think it violates our Community Standards, please report it again.”

What is WRONG with Facebook that it would allow such a video to be welcome on the social media site? Why does Facebook even bother asking members to report cases of suspected animal cruelty, and then does nothing about it one the cruelty is reported?

In may not be in the best interest of anyone concerned, but the comments on this article will be open on this one. It will be interesting to see just how many sadistic cat haters reply, who will most likely call this “playtime” with the family cat.

Your comments are welcome.

Note: This video was uploaded by Elisa to YouTube from Jaladeen Naseem’s Facebook page, just in case Facebook pulls the video. We all need to be aware of what Facebook considers appropriate material for their website. Unfortunately, Facebook tends to have different standards than most of us.
