An upstate mother is in jail tonight after she and her children were discovered living in a home without electricity, WYFF4 reported January 29.
Not only was the home so cold that officers could see their breath, the home was also littered with dirt, dead bugs, and cigarettes. None of the food in their refrigerator was edible.
The police report stated Farrow told the deputy that there was a problem with the electric meter that Duke Energy couldn’t repair. A representative with Duke Energy told police the electricity had been cut to the home on January 27, and there was no problem with her meter.
Farrow is currently being held at the Spartanburg County Detention Center after being arrested at her home.
This is a horrible situation for everyone involved. The house was found dirty by investigating officers. But how do the readers here feel about Duke Energy cutting off electricity the day before a winter storm warning was issued for upstate South Carolina?
Do you feel Carla is a bad mother to her children? Or is she overwhelmed by her situation, and needed a helping hand and instead was arrested and lost her kids?
