An upstate South Carolina couple has been charged with child neglect relating to drug use in the home, Fox Carolina reported March 12.
The parents smoked meth in the home in front of their children, who are reported as younger than 6 years old and under 1 year old.
Swafford and Owens were arrested and taken to the Oconee County Detention Center, where they bonded out on March 11 on a $40,000 personal recognizance bond.
According to South Carolina law S.C. Code Ann. § 63-5-70, unlawful conduct toward a child is
“considered a felony and for each offense, upon conviction, must be fined in the discretion of the court or imprisoned not more than ten years, or both.”
