A woman has been charged with the unlawful passing of a school bus, violating a beginner’s permit and with causing an automobile accident resulting in great bodily injury, Fox Carolina reported May 13.
Jennifer Fowler, an eyewitness, told WSPA
“We was behind the bus and I seen the white car coming towards her as the little girl was walking across the road. I even yelled at him, that that little girl is fixing to be hit and the car hit her.”
Littlejohn was traveling in a Chevy Lumina on Wilkinsville Highway when the accident occurred. The teen was getting onto her bus when Littlejohn hit her.
The teen, whose name hasn’t been released, was flown to Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. She remains in ICU as of Tuesday night.
Littlejohn suffered minor injuries and was taken to Novant Medical Center for treatment before being transported to jail. A minor in the car with Littlejohn was uninjured.
Cherokee County School system representative Joe Walker told news media he had spent the day with the family of the student, who was more worried about keeping up with her end of year finals than with her physical condition.
South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.
