Since then, Anna has been interested in using the internet. She now has her own iPad, and she knows how to use it.
Unfortunately, she’s had to lie to obtain her Facebook account, as the site says users must be between 13 and 99 years old. When she filled out the Facebook information, her information came back as ‘invalid.’ Anna, who was born in 1900, learned the earliest birth year available to use for an account is 1915.
Joseph helped Anna type a letter to Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg on an old typewriter, where she stated
“I’m still here.”
Hopefully, Facebook will let the little fibbing about her age slide since she’s claiming her age on the social media site as 99. Anna may well be the oldest member on Facebook. As for Minnesota, she already holds the record as oldest resident.
Anna is documented as the 7th oldest person in America, just two years younger than an 116-year-old woman living in Arkansas. She lived alone until she was 112 and now resides in a retirement community.
