Dog lovers who have followed the story of Andra Grace from the beginning had the opportunity to meet this sweet girl in person today, Fox Carolina reported February 22.
This visit was bittersweet, as several people who, along with upstate supporters, played a role in saving Andra Grace, were on hand to say goodbye and to wish this special dog a wonderful like in her new forever home.
Andra Grace has had a busy schedule since she was saved with the help of Special Needs Animal Rescue Rehabilitation (SNARR) Northeast in New York.
First, she had to survive the initial injuries she received when Owens dragged her behind his truck. Once stable, Andra Grace went to SNARR Northeast for her specialized treatment and rehabilitation.
Now her story continues as Lynn and Tim were able to adopt her from the New York group.
Looking back, there are many who need special thanks in making today possible.
*Cynthia Saracino for being in the right place at the right time and for helping to handle everything in South Carolina
*Jen for driving Andra and her puppies all the way home to NY.
*Marcy and her family for being Andra’s first fosters and giving her amazing medical care and showing her what love is.
*The staff at Upstate Veterinary Specialists who they took such incredible care of Andra and the puppies and literally saved her life.
*Tina Adams, the investigator who would not give up and helped to get felony charges against Roger Owens ( awaiting sentencing)
*Andy and Lynn, who have adopted her into their family, with the promise of an amazing life.
Also to thank are the more than 40,000 supporters who followed Andra Grace on her Facebook page, donating the funds necessary to cover the cost of her specialized treatment. She is truly a miracle dog.
Roger Owens remains in jail on $30,000 bond, where he faces many years in prison as a repeat offender.
