According to a March 23 report by Fox Carolina News, an upstate South Carolina Humane Society is offering a reward for a dog found after being abandoned.
“We need our community’s help to bring justice for him! Someone knows who did this. They just have to be kind and brave enough to come forward.”
“Marshall, ” who appears to be a pointer, Labrador retriever, and pit bull mix, was rescued by Cherokee Humane Society volunteers. He was found with no food or water and weighs only 50 pounds. The veterinary clinic treating Marshall says he’s between four and five years old and should weigh about 70 pounds.
At the time of his rescue, Marshall was bound so tightly by the rope that he couldn’t move and was covered in ticks. Marshall is also heartworm positive. Veterinarians are treating this sweet boy for internal parasites, anemia, several ulcers and sores and swollen joints.
Anyone with information on Marshall’s owner is asked to come forward. You can follow Marshall on the Facebook: Humane Society of Cherokee County page here.
