Memorial service held July 19 for Max, beloved dog of Leon Rosby

July 21, 2013

A memorial service for Max, the 2-year-old Rottweiler loved by Leon Rosby, was held Friday, July 19 at 12 p.m. Dozens of family and friends who support Leon, and loved Max, joined Leon as he said goodbye to his best friend.

Max left this world on June 30, while defending Leon against the Hawthorne Police Department. A good and loyal dog, Max didn’t realize his love for his daddy would end his life. He only knew his daddy needed his help, and he bravely stepped in to offer a helping paw.

For this, he was killed and now runs free at the Rainbow Bridge. Max isn’t alone, as he has befriended the hundreds of innocent dogs shot down by those who are supposed to protect and serve.

Max’s earthly remains may be at Pet Haven Cemetery, but his spirit flies free. A part of Max will remain with Leon because all good dogs leave a part of their soul behind with those who loved them.

Rest in peace, dear Max. Your death was NOT in vain.

My thanks to Cloud Nyne for the majority of the photos used in the slideshow. You did an excellent job in capturing the day.

Videos of the service not available for embedding, but can be found below. Please save this article if plan to listen to the videos made, as Leon’s Facebook page fills up quickly and it’s difficult to find them.…………
