This is a story of survival and love, and people taking the time needed to get an abandoned cat family to safety.
Meet Blossom and her family, who were recently rescued by the employees who work at Horse & Riders Supplies in Williamston, South Carolina. The mama cat and her kittens, Iris, Daisy, Lily and Rose, were abandoned by their feed store near a busy highway. The employees brought them in and kept them in the office so they wouldn’t be hit by traffic.
The owners told her they had been abandoned right by the highway and they brought them in for safety due to the danger of the busy highway. Unfortunately, the store owner couldn’t keep this precious family, so Gini said she’d try to find help to keep them out of the shelter. Plans had been to take the family to Greenville County Animal Care, a local high-intake shelter overrun with new cats and their unwanted kittens.
Gini called Kristy Brooks, a foster from Kitten Katboodle and Friends for Life Cat Adoptions, and she and Jan Scere said they would help the mom and kittens. Gini happened to be coming through Charlotte two days later and transported mom and babies to the rescue.
Blossom is a very small mom not much bigger than a kitten herself. They are very underweight and have URIs, conjunctivitis, very bad fleas and needed to be seen by the vet as soon as possible. The money will also be needed to have all of them spayed and vaccinated.
Please help these two rescues with Blossom and her babies. You can send to herYouCaring webpage.
Any help at all is appreciated. Thank you, Horse & Riders Supplies, plus a big Thank you to Gini Agnew for being at the right place at the right time. And thank you to Kitten Katboodle and Friends for Life Cat Adoptions, as well as Jan Scere and Kristy Brooks. They’re always there when a cat needs saving.
