Barbara said she had a game plan, and that was to hold on to her dog no matter what. She was sitting on a stool holding her dog in her little bathroom when the tornado struck. She never lost electricity until the tornado actually hit and she felt the stool come up off the floor. Moore never lost consciousness but was lying in a pile of rubble. Unfortunately, she had been separated from her little dog.
Barbara called for her dog, but her dog didn’t answer. Then a few minutes into the interview, one of the news team noticed the dog. Barbara turned around to see what the TV news crew was pointing at, only to find them looking at the face of her dog looking out from beneath a pile of metal that had once been part of the home.
“Bless your itty bitty heart. Help me!” Barbara is quoted as saying once she spotted her beloved dog and went over to it. It was only after asking for help that the news team helped her pull her dog from the remains of her home.
Barbara was overjoyed, and the dog appeared not to have any serious injuries. The elderly dog owner was fortunate to only suffer bumps and bruises from the killer twister. Regardless, Barbara and her dog, which looks to be a Schnauzer or Schnauzer mix from news video, are reunited through what can be nothing less than a miracle.
Now the internet in buzzing with criticism of how SKY News didn’t offer to help until asked. Perhaps the reporters were in shock, as much of that area is after dozens were reported killed and many still missing. Do the readers think the media acted with compassion and would have helped Barbara free her dog, or did they have a bad attitude and just want to get the news story?
