An Australian bus driver is credited with saving the life a dog lost in traffic. This compassionate driver saw the husky running through heavy traffic and stopped the bus for the lost dog. Then the driver opened the bus door, allowing the dog to come onboard.
It was soon learned that “Sasha” was wearing a collar and tags, so it only took a few minutes for passengers to call her owner. One passenger took a scarf and made a leash for the dog, then got off at the local shops to meet up with the owner and return Sasha.
Huskys are known for their adventuresome nature. They’re friendly dogs and sometimes wander away from home. By the time they realize they’re away from family, a husky may not remember the way to get back home.
Not only did this bus driver save Sasha, he very likely prevented an accident from occurring should the dog have remained out in heavy traffic.
There are some beautiful photos of Sasha on the bus, which can be viewed here.
Perhaps those in other professions who come across lost dogs could learn from this example.
