A Georgia family has been reunited with their dog, who was lost during a serious rollover SUV accident. WSOC News reported the happy ending March 29.
Dan and Karen Love were bringing their son Eric’s dog Georgia to their Atlanta home around 5 p.m. on March 23 when they were involved in a serious accident caused by an alleged drunk driver. In an interview with WSOC, Karen explains what happened on Interstate 85 that evening
The family SUV was hit and rolled over several times. The next thing the family knew, their vehicle was upside down. A group of Good Samaritans stopped and helped the couple out of their vehicle.
Thankfully, the Love’s weren’t injured, but Georgia had run away following the accident. The group who stopped to help were able to detain the other driver, who was later charged with DUI but were unable to find the family dog.
Georgia was found Saturday afternoon about a mile from the crash site. The couple made the announcement on the Facebook: Help Find Georgia page
“Words cannot express the joy I have at this moment. My deepest appreciation goes out to everyone who has thought about us, prayed for us, looked with us, and now celebrates with us!
This is the day that The Lord has made, we will rejoice and be glad in it!”
Eric received a call Saturday afternoon, and drove out to the area near the crash, along with about six cars full of friends and strangers who stopped to help with the search. Georgia soon popped up out of the woods
Georgia was uninjured in the crash and is now back home with her family.
